Instead of focusing only on password complexity, focus on these four best practices:
✅ Use a unique password for every account.
✅ Create a long passphrase instead of a short password. For example, a phrase such as BlueCrabSunset!Harbor2026 is much more difficult to crack than a shorter, complex password.
✅ Store passwords in a reputable password manager rather than reusing the same password across multiple accounts.
✅ Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) everywhere possible, especially for Microsoft 365, email, banking, and business-critical applications.
One of the most common issues we discover when working with new clients is password reuse. If one account is compromised, attackers often try the same credentials across email, cloud applications, and business systems.
A strong password combined with MFA dramatically reduces the risk of unauthorized access and remains one of the simplest cybersecurity improvements any business can make.
